Constanta county, together with Tulcea county, belong to the ancient Dobrogea region, placed on Pontus Euxin’s West side (today’s Black Sea). The cities of this region trace their origins back in the antic Greek times. Thus, today’s Dobrogea region are the oldest ones in Romania : the old city of Tomis (presntly named Constanta) celebrated 2500 years of existence in 1991 and also 2250 years from its first documentary testemony; Callatis(Mangalia), Histria,Axiopolis(Cernavoda).

        Along the centuries, life in Dobrogea has evolved in deep connection both with Roman’s history but also with different civilisation’s, being an important crossroad for the Western and the Eastern cultures.

        In order for you to better discover all these places and also to enjoy an active holiday, we propose you 4 touristic routes:

 

Route I - Murfatlar - Adamclisi - Ion Corvin - Oltina (one day).

Route II - Medgidia - Capidava - Topalu - Hârşova (one day).

Route III - Constanţa - Ovidiu - Gura Dobrogei - Casian - Istria (one day).

Route IV - Mamaia - Eforie Nord - Eforie Sud - Techirghiol - Costinesti - Olimp - Neptun - Jupiter - Cap Aurora - Venus - Saturn - Mangalia - Hagieni - Vama Veche - 2 Mai (two or more days).
